04-10-2015 Best Breakfast

Britain's Best Breakfast is our national fundraising campaign — raising money to help us support more unpaid carers and give them a break from their caring role.

Today, 1 in 10 of us is a carer. That’s nearly 7 million people. So even if you aren’t a carer yourself, it’s likely you know someone who needs the support of Carers Trust.

Anyone could be a carer. They might be a 15-year-old school girl juggling school work and looking after a parent with an alcohol problem, a 40-year-old man who has given up a good job to care for his partner who has terminal cancer, or an 80-year-old woman looking after her husband who has Alzheimer's disease.

You are invited to join Crossroads Staffordshire’s Best Breakfast event on the 17th October 2015 at Bagnall Village Hall. Please contact Katie Jennings on 01782 268391 for tickets.
We are also looking for volunteers to help out on the day!

10-07-2013 Crossroads Fund Raising

On the morning of Thursday 27th June we had a visit from Emily Cotter and Stephen Frampton from Edson Evers. It was lovely to see them as they presented the cheque with the total of their amazing fundraising efforts to Crossroads Chief Executive, Angela Ahuja. A whopping £5510.00 has been raised over the last year. We have enjoyed working with the team and the support they have shown us will really be missed. Thank you again.

26-06-2013 Discounts for carers on the new 02 Health Help at Hand product mobile care service.

Carers Trust has recently launched a partnership with O2 health, one of the UK's largest providers of mobile care services. The partnership forms part of the Carers Trust’s aim to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring.

Carers can get exclusive discounts on the new Help at Hand service by visiting the Carers enterprises website www.carersenterprises.org Help at Hand is ideally suited to carers who want to support the person they care for to live as independently as possible, or for people with long term or temporary care needs who wish to be more independent, like Helen who has dyspraxia and often suffers with falls, or Sharon a mum with epilepsy or Stella who is recovering from a stroke. As Helen says, “It’s like a little piece of freedom in my pocket”. Find out more about how the product works and whether it might help you at www.carersenterprises.org.

We have said many thank you's to the Team at Edson Evers for their fundraising efforts over the past year but this time we have to say the BIGGEST THANK YOU yet! On March 3rd they took to the skies accompanied by two Crossroads staff to complete a skydive to raise money for Crossroads Staffordshire. What a great day, they all deserve a pat on the back for their achievement, conquering their nerves to take on this challenge. Together they have raised over £2000. Thank you so much.
